You are bidding on a Lancia Montecarlo 1977 series 1 Spyder. This car has 12 months MOT and has just completed a full restoration.
The car has been stored since 1982 and spent its working life with one owner. I am the third owner and and it has only covered a few miles with me (less than 100) and all other miles with the first owner (the second had kept it to restore, but never did).
Work done
The car has been bare-metal restored with all rust being treated/removed. The paint is the original colour (not acrylic as original) and all the panels are original with the exception on the bonnet which is an original 1977 Lancia series-1 bonnet (removed it from the donor car myself!). The leather interior has been repaired and is original up to the cassette player.
The bumpers have been repaired or replaced but might need to be done again for concours.
The engine was serviced before it was stored in 1982 but we have had the head off again and rebuilt it with new seals/gaskets as a precaution. New tensioner, belt etc. The gear linkange has been re-bushed and the brake calipers, master cylinder has been replaced with original period parts.
The wheels have been refurbished completely and have matching period tyres.
Work Needed
While every effort to finish the last bits will be done before the end of the auction there are a couple of minor thing to do;
The roof straps are incomplete as I am missing one as well as the latch to hold the roof down on the drivers side. I have the parts on the way, I hope it arrives in time.
The side repeaters need to be fitted to the car and again I hope to complete this before the end of the auction.
